All Saints Church last a long standing musical tradition and has a fine organ. We celebrated it’s 100’s birthday a couple of years ago.
We have a very good choir which sings at our main Sung Eucharist at 10:00am on Sunday mornings and at the major festivals throughout the year. There is a choir practice on Friday evening and a choir club for the choir boys and girls.
We welcome new members of the choir. If you are interested, please contact the Organist and Choir Director, Stephen Hession 07977227337.
Organist and Choir Director
The Parish Church of All Saints’, Peterborough is seeking to appoint an Organist and Choir Director.
All Saints’ church has a strong choral tradition and maintains a four-part robed choir containing a mixture of adults and children and is affiliated to the RSCM. The choir rehearses on Friday evenings – which includes choir club for the younger members – and sings at the main 10.00am Eucharist on Sundays. The service will include a liturgically appropriate mass setting, a responsorial psalm, hymns, and a communion motet. The choir also supports and prepares repertoire for other special services and festivals throughout the liturgical year including Advent and Christmas Carol services and Holy Week services. There is scope for additional concerts and services.
The church has an extensive music library to support the liturgical needs of the church and a good choir rehearsal space separate from the church.
The church has a small but very flexible two-manual pipe organ which has recently undergone a significant overhaul, including a full clean, replacement contacts to the pedalboard, new silent blower, revoicing and rescaling of some pipes and a new 8’ pedal stop.
We are seeking to appoint someone with energy and enthusiasm to continue the development of the choir.
Closing date is midnight on Thursday 31st March 2022.
Application pack is available here.
